Little did I know when I got up on the morning of  May    1987 that my life was to change for ever and for the better.  From the time I was 16 when my back went out of joint for the first time until  I was 46  I had suffered increasingly bad back pain. The joint would pop out of it’s socket if I coughed or sneezed in the wrong position or if something made me jump, it happened about every six months to start with but over the years it got  more often and I spent much of my time lying flat on the floor or trying to walk in a strange angle in a great deal of pain for about

two weeks,  then I would have a about a week to ten days still in pain but not quite so bad then it would happen all over again. As you can imagine I was very miserable most of the time, I didn’t feel like going out, if we did go on holiday we  usually came home early , I felt so bad about spoiling it for our four children and my husband so that made me even more miserable, my oldest daughter had to have time of school to look after her young brother  when it was bad, so you can see my life was ruled by my back.

One day as I was just recovering from another bad time I said to a friend “I can’t go on like this any more, I will do anything to get rid of this bad back”  She told me she had seen adverts for healing meetings once a month in Fleet, so she looked in the paper again and the meetings were that very weekend.  Bearing in mind I didn’t have a clue what kind of meetings they were, it could have been anything but I had to be healed.

I talked my husband into taking me along and we went in and sat at the back.   Everyone was very friendly and it felt good.  They started singing praises to the Lord and I was wondering how I was going to be healed, but I knew I would be. Then Jonathan began to speak about Jesus and His goodness and tell us what He had done for us on the cross, it was different to anything I knew. After that Jonathan said The Lord wanted to heal people and set them free and the very  next thing he said “there is someone here with a very bad back and the Lord wants to heal them so come forward and be prayed for” so straight away I was up the front .

I went to be healed and I was healed, the pain went from my back, one leg was  shorter  than the other and that  grew to match the other one and I had walked in limping and went home upright, and in all those thirty years my back has never gone out of joint again.

That is only half the story though, through meeting with the Lord that evening I wanted more , I felt so different , so happy and so grateful for my healing. We started going each month to the meetings and learning about Jesus and after twelve months we publicly declared that we wanted to be born again Christians  and live our lives for Jesus and we have had the most blest years  seeing God work in such wonderful ways in our lives and in others. Jesus said “if  you drink the water I have for you, you will never thirst again, meaning  if you believe in Him you will never search for anything else as you will be so satisfied with what you have and I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and always will. And I know my sins are forgiven and I will go to be with Jesus in Heaven when I leave this earth as Jesus went to the cross to take on our sins and sicknesses and give us everlasting life with Him and be reconciled back to our Father God.
